  • Using Animal Cadavers for the Good of Science

    By admin | May 1, 2008

I was reading an article about an animal shelter that is donating cat carcasses to science and I personally don’t have a problem with it. The simple fact is that veterinarians learn from working on the bodies of these animals. I don’t have a problem with this as long as the animal was not sacrificed for the ‘good of science’. I do have a major problem with the euthanization of feral cats for the ‘good of science’.

A friend of mine who is an animal rights activist brought up a good point which is the complete opposite of my position. How do you know that the care of these animals was not compromised for the ‘good of science’? The answer is that you don’t..

Here’s some other positions on the same issue.
